Time Stake (“we”, “us”) is a free browser game. This policy explains what information is involved when you visit the site or play.

Information you give us

There are no accounts. To play, you type a display name. It is sent to our game server and shown to the other players in your room. Please don't use your full real name or any other personal information as your display name.

Information stored on your device

• Your display name, so you don't have to retype it next time.
• A random session token, which lets you rejoin your room if your connection drops. It identifies only your seat in a game, not you.
• Your language preference, so the site opens in the language you chose.

These are kept in your browser's local storage. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Game data

While a room is active, our server keeps the game state (names, bids and results) in memory. It is not written to a database, and it is discarded when the room closes. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and request times) for security and to keep the service running.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. It uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. We don't send it your display name or anything you type. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising and cookies

We show ads to keep the game free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and learn more at how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), we'll ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

Children

Time Stake is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you. Because we don't keep accounts or long-term game records, there's usually nothing stored beyond the device-side data described above.
